About Opera House Manchester
Standing proudly on Quay Street since 1912, Opera House Manchester is one of the UK’s most magnificent theatrical venues. Originally designed by renowned theatre architects Farquharson, Richardson and Gill, this Grade II* listed building has been entertaining audiences for over a century. With a seating capacity of 1,920, the Opera House hosts the biggest touring West End productions, spectacular musicals, ballet, opera, and world-class entertainment throughout the year.

The stunning Edwardian baroque interior features ornate plasterwork, a magnificent painted ceiling, and a sweeping auditorium that creates an intimate atmosphere despite its grand scale. Major restoration work has preserved the venue’s historic character whilst providing modern comfort and accessibility for today’s audiences.
